Kitakyushu Active Aging Conference in Asia Pacific 2012

Join us for the 7th ACAP in Kitakyushu, Japan, November 10-12, 2012, “Human Development and Environmental Design for Independence, Participation, and Health.”
Although Kitakyushu-city was developed as a modern industrial city centering on a steel industry, it is changing towards a global attractive city by aiming to be an environment-friendly industrial city.
However, the population ratio of aged 65 and over has exceeded 23%. Older age can present challenges to older persons who want to live actively, and solutions include lifelong learning, and community-based comprehensive care systems, robots for care, and other ideas.
2012 marks the 10-year anniversary of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Aging by the United Nations. Researchers, private enterprises, nonprofit organizations, administrators, and citizens, which participate in the Kitakyushu ACAP 2012, will be able to learn and to be inspired by progress over the past decade in human development and environmental design for independence, participation and health for all generations.

During the ACAP, the 14th Welfare Equipment & Devices Fair will be held at the same time. We are preparing a joint program with it.
In addition to the conference, attendees may participate in an optional study tour to learn more about developments related to Welfare.

Let’s meet in Kitakyushu for ACAP 2012!
